Fated and Fabled
Part of the LFW whirlwind is the shows, the other part is doing lounges and exhibitons at various locations through the city, and so it was that I came across Lucy Ashton at the never less than awesome Grooming Room. Well first Lucy was surprised to have been introduced to Harry The Hippo who was repping Team:FW there for his latest escapades. Check out the full article here

House of COCO Designer Spotlight : Lucy Ashton
Cheltenham born designer Lucy Ashton took her passion for jewellery and turned her talents into a business. Experimenting and teaching herself new skills Lucy created her first brand from her studio based in Gloucester.
Inspired by body armour Lucy Ashton created her debut collection of intricate silver jewellery named ‘Armour’
Using handmade filigree styled silver she layers and links pieces to form bold, beautiful jewellery.
Lucy also takes inspiration from around the world. Techniques, fashion trends, traditions all take part in Lucy’s designs. Taking body armour as her base for the collection Lucy then looked into Asian jewellery to soften the collection and give it feminine beauty.
Here, House of Coco chats to Lucy to find out more about her ambitions for the future and what makes her tick…
When did you launch the brand and what was the reason behind it?
I launched my brand in July 2015, I was working in retail and I came to a point in my life where I questioned my future and what I really wanted. I wanted to be creative, I wanted to run my own business and I wanted to create jewellery that I know you can’t find anywhere else.

Fashion Blogger Audrey of Befrassy.com wrote a fantastic blog on my recent collection.
Her words are very inspirational and beautiful.
"Turning over another leaf in my jewellery journal, this time, quite aptly showcasing leaves themselves in a collaborative concept that came to be alongside the ever lovely Lucy Ashton, creator and designer of a jewellery line I have fallen for. I do adore jewellery, a love that has seriously been reignited over the last year or so, culminating during my trip to Copenhagen, where I was educated on jewellery of all beautiful kinds. There is such sentimental value in jewellery, this is perhaps why I am so fascinated, anything that small so close to our skin must have meaning, or so I do believe. Love itself seems to be at the core of all jewellery – stones like diamonds or pearls symbolize the love of a man, but this got me thinking, what about self-love? What sort of jewellery would express this ever important facet of love? And that is precisely how that how these photos spun themselves into life, I suppose."
